The I Believe in Me Program is designed to empower children by fostering a strong sense of self-worth and confidence. By participating in this program, children are encouraged to explore their unique talents and abilities, enabling them to thrive in diverse environments. The program incorporates various activities and workshops that emphasize self-discovery, resilience, and positive thinking. Furthermore, the program aims to create a supportive community where children feel safe to express themselves and share their experiences. This nurturing environment helps them develop essential life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and empathy, which are crucial for their overall well-being. By focusing on the mental health of our children, the I Believe in Me Program also addresses the growing concerns surrounding anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges. Through mindfulness exercises, creative expression, and peer support, children learn effective coping strategies that empower them to navigate life's challenges with confidence and optimism. Ultimately, the I Believe in Me Program is a vital initiative that not only uplifts our children's spirits but also prepares them for a future filled with possibilities. By investing in their mental health and personal growth, we are laying the foundation for a healthier, happier generation.
Casa del Jardin
Safe house in Tijuana, Mexico
Casa del Jardin is a shelter that receives boys and girls who have been victims of sexual exploitation, forced labor, and sexual abuse.
Our children come to the shelter with insecurities, low self-esteem, and fears. For them, life has no meaning, much less believing that something good can happen to them. They do not feel deserving of anything, and they do not trust anyone since the people they loved the most were the ones who used them.
When they started “I Believe In ME”, they thought it would be just another motivational talk like the ones they had received before, the bored faces conveyed a “what now?”
Until they heard real stories of people like the ones they admired, Nike is an example. They began to feel identified, to believe that these people lost everything but never lost themselves and there they found the strength that led them to make history.
Children began to enjoy writing down the small good things that happened in their daily lives, dinner, a movie, school, the weather, they embraced the idea that every day is an opportunity.
Most of these children have found love in faith since only something beyond can give them the strength to move forward, they try to find a space in the day to meditate and ask a higher power for peace.
Children who were destined to live a life of suffering are beginning to break generational patterns, today they want to be ballet dancers, engineers, psychologists, fashion designers, lawyers, soccer players.
Thanks to “I Believe In ME” they have powerful tools to believe that their life has a purpose. Their mission is just beginning, our hearts are filled with joy when we hear them talk about positive things. We see them painting and capturing their dreams. Gardens are growing where there were graves. Our children are flourishing.
